I Won By Finding A Discount Office Supplies Company
My company was having a contest to see which employee could come up with the best money saving idea for the month. I have heard of companies doing this when they are hurting, but I did not think that my company was in that situation. I did not want to take any chances of not helping out though, just in case this was their way of letting us know that things were starting to change.
I wrote up a huge list of things that I thought might be money saving ideas. I found that the discount office supplies idea was of interest to my boss and he told me to do some serious investigating of our current office supply company and some different discount office supplies companies that were online.
I spent most of the next week looking over many office supply companies and comparing prices. By the following week, I finished my report and submitted it the big bosses upstairs for review. At the end of the month, the winner was to be announced in the weekly meeting. I was shocked to find out that I had won and that the company had already switched to the discount office supplies company that had the lowest prices of all that I looked at.
